Antarctica reflection

This week we have been learning about Antarctica and what it is like there we have been watching videos daily to see what has been happening and we had to make a slide presentation and send it to Mrs Akkerman/Mrs Price and we had to write facts about it to know how much we have learnt and I thought it was really fun

Antarctica

Antarctica used to be as warm as modern day California did you no that. that's a fact and yes I have a lot more. Antarctica is the coldest and the driest and widest place on earth and nearly everything is covered in ice. The ice sheet is 2500 to 4700 m  thick.

Maths goal

My maths goal is to count forwards and backwards in fractions in thirds fourths and fiths i am going to work on it a lot and try my hardest to get it i have also done place value finding tenths in a four digit number and i have proven on my maths hub

All blacks create history

On October the 22 the All blacks made history by wining 17 matches in a row and the last one seemed to be the bledisloe cup which was vs Australia also Aussie have had many losses in a row which is that they are the team who have lost in a row and they are second over all the final score for the  eighty minutes was 37 to 10 im sorry Aussie

Learning Goal Reflection

For my toku ako I have to make an honest reflection on my goal. One of my goals in writing is to use more difficult punctuation so im going to use speech marks explanation marks and more difficult punctuation here is an example "Hey Dad",said Josh."im going to  play now"OK",said Dad.

Breakers Win first match of season

For my toku ako we have to write  a reflection on kiwi kids news of something that interests you here is an example. The breaker have won there first match of the season against Melbourne united they won by 76 to 71 it was a close match the games was really close in the 3 quarters but also shooting amazingly in the 4th quarter and that is how they won the shooting guard Corey Webster nailed 11 points in a row leading up to the win including Tom Abercrombie who nailed 14 points in the last ten minutes.

Improper Fractions

In fractions we have been doing improper ones where you have the numerator number bigger than the denominator e.g 12/7 see the numerators bigger so we make it in to a whole and that's  7/7 and there are 5 left so its 1-5/7 and that is improper fractions.

Water reflection

This week we have been doing waterline with Adrian we learnt about all of the different facts about water we only have 1 percent of water to use two percent is under ground and 97 percent is salt water so we need to keep our 1 percent precious and use it. We had a lot of homework and to sum it up i rely enjoined it.

Writing Reflection

This week we had to describe different stories like Cross Country a Roller Coaster and the view of Mount Everest we had to use personification metaphors and similes.

We also had to write about a superhero and do paragraphs to put each idea in. I had so much fun learning  these things about writing.

Maths Reflection

In Maths this week we have mostly been doing Mental Maths where you get a sheet with 20 questions and you have to figure out in a matter of time some are hard some are easy you also have to mark them to improve and see how much we have got right and I really enjoyed it. 

RE Reflection

In RE this week we have been doing the sacrament of healing and doing bible readings in our book  we have been unpacking the amazing miracles that Jesus made by healing the blind man.

Using place value to solve Multiplication problems

Today I was learning to use place value for multiplication problems and solve them easily.
I solved them by breaking them up into easier numbers and times them to get my answer.
I found it confusing at the start but I got the hang of it

Here's an example

54 x 3 = 162

50 x 3 = 150 and

4 x 3 = 12 so

150 + 12 = 162

Today I made a story cube about a story called Billionaire Boy by David Williams I had to read the instructions to complete the cube it was  quite hard with the gluing but I completed it.

There was a bit where the main character Joe was getting bullied at school because his dad made billions of dollars making loo rolls  and they called him bum fresh boy  so he moved to a different school and met a new friend Named Bob he has a great time there.
